Because most students take a break from classes in the summer, financial aid is awarded for the fall-spring academic year. Summer is considered an additional, optional term except for co-op students. Students attending at least half-time in summer should notify Student Financial Aid.
Co-op students, because they most often attend year-round, should alert Student Financial Aid of their co-op rotation. When accepting aid, this alert ensures maximum aid availability during in-class semesters.
Aid for summer is extremely limited. Students who know early on that they will be taking summer classes should speak with One Stop staff to determine the availability of aid. Knowing your annual aid limits, you can better plan for expenses throughout the year.
